2008 British Open Show Jumping Championships at the NEC
The British Open Show Jumping Championships will take place on 3rd - 6th April 2008 at Birmingham's NEC. They offer a unique opportunity to see the world’s leading show jumpers and top event riders competing at the same indoor event. The event offers the biggest single indoor show jumping prize in Britain and this year the total prize money on offer is in excess of £150,000 with the British Open Champion receiving over £25,000.
Britain’s top ten international show jumpers, alongside prominent riders from abroad, will be invited to contest the prestigious British Open title, with a Championship round on each of the first three days culminating in the Final on Sunday afternoon. The British Open Show Jumping Championships also host the British Open Indoor Cross Country Championship. In addition there will be demonstrations and displays from a wide and varied range of equestrian disciplines. These include a Freestyle Dressage to Music display by Daniel Timson, the internationally acclaimed dressage rider, on his advanced Dressage stallion, Feinthyme.
Barrel Racers will provide western entertainment. Barrel racing is a timed rodeo discipline that demands speed, accuracy and agility. Competitors will race at full speed while twisting and turning around a series of barrels in a triangular pattern.
