Bechtolsheimer claims individual dressage silver medal

Britain's Laura Bechtolsheimer has added the individual dressage silver medal to the team second place which she won earlier in the week at the World Equestrian Games, horse insurance customers have been told.

Taking place in Kentucky, US, the 25-year-old rider from Gloucestershire recorded 81.70 per cent, and comes a day after she produced a stunning performance along with Carl Hester, Fiona Bigwood and Maria Eilberg.

"World record holder Edward Gal from the Netherlands was brilliant with his majestic black stallion Moorlands Totilas, taking gold with a score of 85.66 per cent, just one percentage mark behind the world record score they set in Aachen, Germany earlier this year," said a report on the BBC Sport website.

Bechtolsheimer is now preparing for Friday's individual grand prix freestyle, where she will be among the major medal contenders in that category, although Gal could be her biggest rival.

Having started on September 25th, the Games runs until October 10th and features events in dressage, endurance and reining among others.
