Dog attacks two horses
Two police horses have been injured in a dog attack, leaving one horse in need of serious veterinary care.
The horses, Toffee and Rosie, belong to the Essex Police Force and were patrolling Northgate, Harlow with two offices when a Staffordshire bull terrier, which was off of its lead, made a bee line for them, leading to a savage attack. Scared for their lives, the horses bolted throwing both police officers to the floor.
Rosie's injuries were serious and required immediate veterinary treatment, she will have to remain under their care for approximately a week. The vets also had to treat Toffee with some stitches however he should be back on patrol in the near future. Both police officers who were thrown to the ground had to be taken to hospital to be checked over; however they walked away with a few bruises.
The owner of the dog was arrested for her lack of attention and not being in control of her animal. It is unknown what will happen to the dog.
