Equine Coach of the Year competition announced

A new competition has been launched by the British Horse Society that could interest a lot of horse insurance policy holders.

The 'Coach of the Year' competition aims to inspire current coaches to continue training and education, thus improving levels of professional development and standards within the equine world. Regional qualifying events will be judged by BHS fellows and will test coaches on riding, jumping and lungeing.

It's not just a faceless competition though. The fellows will also give feedback to participants and there will be ample opportunity to debate coaching practices. At the end of each regional day the coach showing the most potential will go on to the final competition. This will be held in October at Warwickshire College.

There are strict limits on the number of participants for the regional days so interested equine insurance policyholders will need to get their riding boots on. Application packs can be obtained from the BHS; more details are on their website.
