Equine insurance: Charity event to feature horse attractions
Equine insurance policyholders have been told that horses are to play a big part in a fundraising event being held this Sunday (May 29th) near Spilsby, Lincolnshire.
The Market Rasen Mail reported that the Northcote Heavy Horse Centre is running a medieval tournament in order to collect money for the ongoing running and maintenance of the organisation.
Centre manager Terena Bolam explained: "With 15 horses to feed, as well as the goats etc, it is crucial to the survival of the centre that we can make enough money to keep going for another year, and these events help with that."
Those travelling to the attraction will see a costume parade, as well as skilled sports such as javelin, lancing rings and the "quintin", all negiotiated on horseback.
Mounted gymnastics and archery demonstrations will be on display and, for the first time, the opportunity to witness medieval dancing.
Last month, a fundraiser which recreated a historic ride from London to Edinburgh was backed by Prince Charles.
