Equine therapy for vulnerable children

The therapeutic nature of working with animals has been proven once more with the Horse Trust partnering with Woodland Short Stay School for vulnerable children.

Equine insurance customers will be pleased to see children getting such a benefit from their involvement with horses. The Horse Trust's press release showed that the children had become a lot more confident after learning to gain the trust and friendship of the horses. The hope is that the confidence will spill over into their personal lives.

Neil Smith, the Equine Specialist at Horsewyse, who led all the training sessions, said that the course had been a big success. "The whole experience has been amazing. It was great to see how much the children got out of these sessions - you just had to look at their faces," he said.

"We're really pleased that the Horsewyse training course has been such a success," said Susan Lewis, Marketing Manager at The Horse Trust. "Not only have the children gained a lot from the experience, but it's been great for the horses too. We hope that we can run more courses like this in the future."

You never know, these children may be horse riding insurance customers in the making.
