French trainer brings horses to London stage

Equine insurance policyholders may be interested to hear of a unique stage show taking place in London, which uses horses as part of a conceptual dance.

The Centaur and the Animal features four mounts trained by a French equestrian known as Bartabas, and sees the horses perform alongside Japanese dancer Ko Murobushi.

Commenting on the show, Bartabas said: "I don't make this show to 'show' horses – it's to dive into the depths of the relationship between man and horse. It's about working together."

The performance has gained attention for its unique concept, with saying that it is a "visually intriguing" piece of theatre which offers a "super-serious horse pageant".

Staged at Sadler's Wells, The Centaur and the Animal will take place until March 6th.

Bartabas's production company, Zingaro Equestrian Theatre has toured internationally for more than a quarter of a century, although the current run of shows marks his first performances in the UK capital.
