Greedy horse inspires owner
The owner of a greedy horse has been inspired to manufacture a feeding devise that stops him eating so much hay at once.
The horse owner, Ellie Parkin, from County Durham, had found that over eating horses was a wide spread problem so she was determined to find a way for these greedy animals to find it more difficult to eat. Ellie came up with the idea of a new type of haynet, which she has named elim-a-net, it uses double layers so the holes are smaller for the horse to get the hay out of.
By getting involved with Business link and North East England Investment Centre (NEEIC) she was able to raise enough money and get in contact with other businesses to help her to put her design into working practice. At the British Equestrian Trade Association Ellie was awarded with the innovative award, something she is very proud of.
The elim-a-net will be on sale for the first time at Stoneleigh Park, Warwickshire from November 14 to 15 at the Your Horse Live exhibition.
