Horse attacked by crossbow
A horse has been found with a crossbow bolt imbedded into its shoulder after a brutal and inhumane attack. Its owner found the horse in South Tyneside last Friday where he was quick to contact the police. A vet later removed the bolt from the 17-month-old horse, which is said to be making a great recovery but as it would be for anyone it will still be recovering from shock.
Police are appealing for anyone with any information to come forward, the incident occurred between 7pm on Thursday and 11.15am Friday morning. Sam Rennison the Sergeant in charge of the case said; "This was a callous attack against a defenceless animal. We would ask for anyone with any information on this incident to come forward." The number to contact is 03456 043 043.
