Horse care comedy from Ruth Jones
Sky has announced a new sitcom from Ruth Jones which will feature horse care, although there's no news as to whether horse insurance will be featured.
The Welsh BAFTA winner made her name co-writing "Gavin and Stacey" with James Corden and appearing on the show as Nessa. Sky has given head of comedy Lucy Lumsden, who came in from BBC3 last year, a multi-million pound budget to bring top comedy to Sky1.
Sky has subsequently signed up Ruth to write and star in a ten-part serial. The comedy will be about Stella, a forty-something mother who has to slot equine care in alongside the demands of her family. She says that it will feature "an authentic slice of the working-class Welsh valleys."
We're looking forward to see how horse care turns out as a vehicle for comedy and are sure that horse insurance customers will be too.
