Horse causes mayhem down A-road
A horse died yesterday after being hit by a lorry on the A19 just south of Middlesborough. The incident occurred after the horse threw its rider after being startled next to the busy A-road, made worse by the rush hour traffic.
The incident also involved three other cars, which all collided with each other in an attempt to miss the panicked animal. Fortunately none of the drivers of the vehicles and the rider were injured in the accident but the horse died as a result of its injuries at the scene.
The A19 was closed for an hour and a half while the horse was recovered and the wreckage was cleared.
