Horse insurance: Rider dies after fall from horse
Horse insurance policyholders have been told that a young woman has died after falling from her mount.
The Worcester News reported that Charlotte Cole, 23, was involved in the accident while training at a racing yard in the county.
She suffered severe head injuries when the horse that she was riding unseated her, after a trip.
Despite being airlifted to the Queen Elizabeth hospital in Birmingham, Ms Cole died without regaining consciousness, two days after the incident.
Ms Cole's mother Diane said: "She was a lovely, lovely person, full of life ... We're sad but she died doing what she loved."
She added: "I like to think she would have had a smile on her face as she went up to the gallops."
Last month, Jane Mitchinson, 63, from Brentwood, died after the mount she was riding was involved in a collision with a vehicle.
Residents have now called for a national safety campaign to make drivers aware of their behaviour around riders and horses.
