Horse serves fatal blow to toddler
A family has been rocked to the core as their youngest member has tragically died after sustaining injuries from a horse.
The family in Tasmania lost their one year old son after he was kicked in the chest by a bucking horse in Narre Warren East near Melbourne on Monday 14 December. The boy sustained severe internal injuries caused by the impact of the horse hooves against the boy's chest.
The boy had been enjoying a visit with his mother to a relative's property and they were admiring the horse when the animal started kicking, it is currently unknown what fatally spooked the horse. Paramedics arrived at the scene to assist the toddler however after 30 minutes of CPR they were unable to revive the small child.
The boy's family are said to be grieving heavily for the loss of their son and Ambulance Victoria have been in touch to help the family cope with this awful situation and to provide support and counseling to any members suffering from this overwhelming sadness.
