Horses are caused unnecessary suffering
A couple have been sent to Banff Sheriff Court and are facing prosecution due to the disregard of more than 24 horses at their farm in Aberdeenshire.
Three particular horses, a black mare, brown cott and a chestnut yearling were found to be malnourished after Leslie and Valerie Pritchard had failed to provide them with enough food and water, causing them unnecessary suffering. Twenty Four other horses were found with a minimal amount of water and the incorrect food which would have not provided the animals with an adequate diet.
Adequate veterinary care had not been sought after by the couple when their horses were poorly, leading to their death. The pair had then failed to comply with the law in the disposal of the horses.
Leslie Pritchard has so far denied all charges, however another trial will begin later this year to see that he is punished for his crime, Valerie Pritchard's court case is still under trial.
