Horses become victims of abuse
Police in East Sussex are investigating random attacks on horses in the area, which have had their tails cut off.
Seven horses, at Rottingdean Yard, have had their tails removed during the night in what is thought to be linked to the sale of horsehair. The owners of the yard are now taking it in turns to spend the night looking out for another thief that may come back looking for more hair.
Fortunately on this occasion the only injuries the horses will suffer from is a cold backside during the winter period. This does not stop the act from being dangerous to the horses or the thief as horses can be easily startled and could kick the robber.
Anna Taylor from Rottingdean Yard said: "A few days ago we thought a few of the tails had been cut a little bit, and we thought maybe some kids playing in the field, or possibly even chewed off, because that can happen."
