Horses maine concern is the snow
The winter weather has caused havoc all across the UK, causing major problems to all businesses. The latest victim of our worst winter for 30 years is Deeside farm were staff are finding the weather almost impossible to cope with as they fight to keep their horses from suffering.
Over the past week Belwade World Horse Welfare Farm has been subject to 3ft of snow making life increasingly difficult for staff by more then doubling the amount of work they have to put into the care of the horses.
Caroline Heard, a supervisor at the farm said: "The conditions are proving quite difficult and we only have one working tap, which our maintenance man has to regularly defrost with a blowtorch. However the horses all appear very happy and have been very clever in forming tracks through the snow which they all use, walking in line one behind the other. Incidentally, this is also very useful for us!"
For all owners looking to care for their horses during these harsh weather conditions Deeside Piper and Herald have issued a list of actions you can take in order to care for your horse.
