RSPCA seize horses in connection with animal cruelty
Five horses have been seized by the police and an animal sanctuary after reports of abuse were received. The field near Clay Hill, London was visited by Redwings Horse Sanctuary and the police where two horse floats were used to remove the horses from their stables. In total 4 mares and a stallion were removed from the field.
A local resident said: "We saw police and horses being put into vans but I can't say how many."
A sign has been left on the gate of the field stating that the five horses have been seized by the RSPCA.
The manager of the adjourning pub said: "I went outside at about 12pm and said 'what is going on' because they were parked in the car park. A policeman said there has been some cruelty to animals."
The owner of the horses is currently being traced by the RSPCA in connection with animal cruelty.
