Saddelry and tack needs to be secure
Horse owners at The Ridgeway Equestrian Centre in Cradley, Malvern are sending out a warning to all horse owners that they need to be careful with their saddlery and tack, following a spout of burglaries in the area.
The owners of the horses at the centre had over £2,500 worth of equipment stolen between October 23 and 25. The stolen items were 6 saddles, including one which had been hand made for one rider 26 years ago, leaving her in much upset as the saddle had sentimental value, something that her horse insurance policy could not replace.
One husband to an owner of one of the horses kept at the centre had called round livery stables following the theft to advise them of the incident and to keep their eye out for anyone trying to sell on the 6 saddles. He was surprised to hear that a number of thefts had already occurred in the area, with some livery yards being targeted more than once.
