Sid the horse retires after 14 years of service
Sid, one of the police forces most dedicated Horse has retired after 14 years.
Sid has been with the Cleveland Police Mounted branch for 14 years, making 500 arrests with his partner PC Graeme Smiles. Together they would Trott through Middlesborugh and its surrounding area maintaining law and order; three commendations have been awarded to the pair who worked closly together for 12 years.
Since 2007, Sid has joined forces with PC Martin Lindsay, making an impression on the community. As a retirement present from the locals a special cake was made to show the appreciation of the middlesborough residents for his hard work.
The 18 year old Veteran will be replaced by Ronnie, a 10 year old chesnut horse.
