Soldier thrown from horse
A horse rider, who was thrown from his horse, was involved in a dramatic rescue involving an air ambulance on Tuesday October 20.
The rider of the horse, a soldier from the Household Cavalry at Combermere Barracks, was riding through Windsor Great Park passed the Queens Gate in Kings Road, when he was thrown from the horse after it became spooked, chucking him into a brick wall and the horse then landing on him.
The soldier was leading a troop of riders at the time of the accident, which all witnessed the horse throwing him off and feared that he may have suffered internal injuries. Luckily an off duty firefighter was nearby and rushed to the scene to call an ambulance. Due to the area and concern for his injuries an air ambulance arrived taking him off to Wexham Park Hospital in Slough.
A spokesman from the army commented that the soldier had escaped with minor bruising, which may put him out of action for a week or two.
