The Mitsubishi Motors Badminton Horse Trials 2008
The Mitsubishi Motors Badminton Horse Trials 2008 will be held at the Duke of Beaufort's Badminton Estate, Gloucestershire from Thursday May 1st to Sunday May 4th 2008.
Badminton Horse Trials is one of the toughest and most exciting equestrian events calendar. Horses and riders complete the competition over 3 days, each day consisting of a different discipline or phase. The first phase is dressage where horse and rider must demonstrate Obedience, Discipline, Accuracy and Elegance. Stamina and athleticism is tested during the 4 mile cross country phase where both solid man-made and natural obstacles must be jumped within a set time. The final test is a course of show-jumps designed to test agility and accuracy at speed. The Dressage phase will take place on Thursday and Friday, with the cross-country phase on Saturday and Jumping on Sunday.
The Blue Cross is Badminton’s designated charity this year. They will have a named cross country fence in their honour and collection points around the showground.
It is reported that the online booking kiosk has been extremely busy since it opened on January 14th. Tickets can be booked on their website: www.badminton-horse.co.uk
