Two horses involved in motorway accident
A trailer containing two horses was involved in a car accident on the M66 motorway on Monday, October 19 leaving one horse requiring medical treatment.
The trailer, which was being towed by a lorry was travelling near Ramsbottom, Bury and had collided with a Volkswagen Golf which turned the horse trailer onto its side, throwing around the two animals.
Police attended to the scene to find the male driver of the golf with minor injuries; however one of the horses had to be taken to nearby vets for them to contend with a suspected broken jaw. Luckily the other horse walked away unscathed and the driver of the lorry had received no injuries.
