Two ponies stolen from stables in Middlesex
Two miniature ponies have been stolen from a wheelchair ridden owner from stables in Middlesex. Police are now appealing for any witnesses after the horses were stolen on December 29th, from the farm in Charlton. A white van was spotted outside the farm near the time of the incident, which is believed to be involved in the theft of the animals. At this time police thought that the thieves lead the horses down the track after two fences has been knocked down and the padlock to the gate broken and ushered into the back of the vehicle.
Daniel Nicholls the owner of the horses said: "We think that they were lead down the road and put into a van. Two fences had been knocked down and the padlock had been broken off the gate. There are 13 horses at the yard but only those two were taken. We think that they were being watched as the last person at the stables noticed a van waiting nearby in the lane, but it drove off when it was approached."
Both of the ponies come from a family of well bread horses putting their value and importance above most other horses at the stable. The horses are also much loved by Mr Nicholls as he got them four weeks ago after finding he could no longer properly attend to the larger horses, and these ponies where much easier for him to look after.
