X factor mogul comes to equine rescue

A refuge centre for horses that has recently been under threat of closure has received backing from music big shot Simon Cowell. The closure has come after the landlord of the land and property has announced the need to sell, this has lead the current tenants wanting to buy the land in an effort to avoid shut down.

Sara Ross is in charge of the refuge and the campaign to raise money for the horse sanctuary. She told ow they had recently received a call from Mr Cowell's office saying that they would like to lead a crusade and donate money towards the cause.

She said: "I don't know how he heard about us, but his office phoned up to say he would like to help. I duly went into London during the week of the X Factor final. He had heard about what we do and said it was essential we keep going. He wants to spearhead a campaign to raise awareness of our plight and has donated some money."

The upkeep and survial of this sanctuary is vital as of the 70 horses kept on the land many of them are either too old or sick to travel to another location. This has caused the problem for Ms Ross, but thanks Mr Cowell they may just be able to stay open.

Insure My Horse provides horse insurance with added features and benefits for all equine owners.
