Road safety test
When towing your horse trailer you need to insure that, you are both insured and that your driving license allows you to do so.
Drivers that passed their car test before the 1st January 2007 are able to tow a horse trailer without no previous experience or test up to 8.25 tonnes, however drivers after this are required to pass an additional test in order to gain entitlement to category B and E which is to tow caravans and trailers.
Although drivers, who passed their car test before 1997, are not required by law to take a test or have any experience, some training would be beneficial, advisably without the horse in the trailer.
