Trailer safety

The floorboards of the trailer should run vertically, with good support underneath. Any trailer mats should not be slippery and ramps should be non-slip and preferably not a steep gradient. If you have a step up trailer you need to ensure that the horse can walk out head first as they can slip while walking backwards causing major injury.
